Why You Should Take Your European Car to a European Car Expert

When you buy a European car, you expect quality and a long life. The first is up to the manufacturer but the second is often up to you. If you don’t take proper care of your vehicle and take it to a mechanic who can maintain and repair it, it’s not likely to last as long as you hoped. Cars are manufactured differently in different parts of the world and finding an expert that knows the particulars of your vehicle can extend its life and improve its performance.

Training
In Europe, a lot more diesel engines are used, especially in Germany and Scandinavia. Engine construction, in general, can be unique. It is invaluable to have a local mechanic trained and certified for servicing certain brands. Updated training is always available, and a good specialty mechanic will make sure to stay up on every new development.

Equipment
Diagnostic and repair equipment is also specialized. There are tools that test and service certain vehicles, and without these, it can be difficult to know what the issue may be or how to fix it. You should only visit a European car expert for your European cars because they will have invested in this specialty equipment.

Parts
Each car requires parts suited to that model, although some vehicles do share parts with other models in the same make. European car parts cannot be swapped with American or Japanese ones. European parts are known to be a little more pricey, but often a Euro car expert will have a line on great used parts. Regardless, the parts are high quality and will last longer.

Dealerships aren’t always the answer
With American and Japanese cars, it’s often easy to just bring your car to a dealership or a local corner shop and get it serviced. The reason you see specialty shops for European cars, though, is they have developed a niche in the market that was missing. If you buy an Aston Martin, a Bentley, or even a Mercedes-Benz, your local mechanic might not know how to properly service it. You could bring it to the dealership, but with many of these cars, people often buy them overseas or from private owners.
